Injuries to Minors and Children
Under Oklahoma Law people under the age of 18 are unable to file a lawsuit without a parent or guardian. Children are at risk for many of the same types of injuries as adults and may be even more susceptible to other types of risks. Children may be the victims of firework injuries, defective products, or injuries sustained while under negligent supervision. Because a seat belt doesn't fit a child as well as an adult, a child in a car accident may be harmed more than an adult would be. Injuries associated with air bag deployment can be more severe with children as well.

Young children are also a significant percentage of pedestrian traffic fatalities. According to NHTSA statistics, almost one-forth of pedestrian fatalities are children between the ages of 5 and 9.
